Goddess of Glam makeup for Miss Asia International Winner of 2012 - Femina Chaudhry

beauty goddess

Femina Chaudhry was winner for 2012 Miss Asia International. I had a delightful opportunity to work with her during her visit to Malaysia as a judge for the Mrs Malaysia Planet event, held in Palace Of Golden Horses last weekend.

Femina has great features and lovely skin. Her foundation in from Kose, to ensure maximum moisture for dewy skin  effect. Her face base is from Laura Mercier and Embryolisse combined with Lancome Genifique serum.

Femina thought me few tricks and tips herself, doing up hair with gel to ensure maximum sleekness. We concocted a cool glitter body powder by mixing MAC pigments and Laura Mercier Stardust loose powder. She looked amazing!

We were also very lucky to have celebrity makeup artist Rose JR in the house. She was a tremendous help in doing up Femina grand hair and saree. Special thanks to her, for steadfast support and inspiring encouragement always.

Hair is done using fake bun, to build up a grand sleek bun, to suit her grand crown, which i do not have a pic of it.... SO SAD!

Initially her concealer was from Graftobian, but it proved to be too dry and we decided to use liquid lifting concealer from Make Up Forever instead.

Her sweet soft blusher is from MAC, bronzer from MAC too. Her beautiful sultry eyes is from Urban Decay, NAKED series, MAC.

Lips is from MAC and CHANEL.

Thank you Femina for hiring me!

Alternative to Not wearing fake lashes... try fibre+mascara

Here's a sample look without using any fake lashes
Arabian makeup

Hi dearies,
Lately I noticed a lot of my customers prefers not to wear fake lashes during their wedding. Wearing fakelashes does gives a whole lot of difference and gives you better definition especially during photography, but it may not be comfortable for some people.
Therefore, I gladly introduce fiber mascara for my client as an alternative to not wearing fake lashes. Mine is from Shizen, a product from Korea.
It builds and lengthens your lashes unbelievably with juz a few coats of the fibre and normal mascara. You can use pharmacy sold brand or even high end ones like LANCOME too.
my normal lashes with
 no mascara

How good is it? I'll let you decide with the pics below.....

with fibre mascara
n MAC Opulash

fiber mascara
Ignore my face yg sememeh, focus on the lashes difference
in volume and length
 Amazing right?

It is not cheap though.... Almost rm200 per small bottle..... It is much cost effective to wear a fake lashes.
But the result is stunning and worth the money paid. And also the comfort... it is like your normal lashes....

You know how arabian makeup is usually over the top and requires thick fake lashes?

Well, here's how I do it without the need to wear ANY fake lashes...
Juz the fiber and normal drugstore mascara will do....

Arabian makeup that not too strong.

Makeup for Sunburnt Skin Mission - (Special Entry For Ritha)

This entry is a special one.
This is because I owe an apology for my client, Ritha for not able to help her out with my makeup on her major concern which happens to be camouflaging her sunburnt skin.. Moments after these pics was taken, the foundation around her nose starting sliding off.

The reason is, Ritha had just came back from holiday and had sun burn. Apparently if you have sunburnt skin or just had a chemical peeling facial.... your makeup wont hold long as it had not much skin to hold on too.

So, unfortunately in this case.... all the methods did not seem to work. Her makeup, particularly around the nose had been re-done 3 times.I am very, very lucky as Ritha is a very understanding client and was very forgiving. Thank you Ritha.

Nonetheless, I would like to share with you some tips from my makeup sifu, Rose JR. I had the chance to ask her about Ritha's case, and according to her....

If you have sunburnt skin...and need to wear makeup, then SKIP the primer. Move on to BB cream instead. Use Kryolan TV Stick to cover up. Use with concise and slow movement so the foundation will cling on evenly on the BB cream. Then proceed as usual.

Well, lesson learnt. I hope some of you will gain useful tips from my experience.

Lastly, my sincere apologies to Ritha again.... I hope to give you a much, much better job next time. Pavlova or cheesecake on me, OK. ;)

Dinner Makeup - Fauzian (Theme : Pirate Cun)

Hi Folks.... Lama tak dengar berita kan...

Here's one of my latest work.. last night at Sime Darby Convention Centre. I was very happy when Fauzian, one of my repeat clients called me to assist her for her company's department dinner. Because we had ample time and wasn't in a rush, I had lovely time chatting with her about makeup and tips. I hope she enjoyed the session as much as I did. The last time we met (picture in her orange hijab) she was heavily pregnant... now her baby boy is 5 month old dah.... How time flies....

First of all, I'm using my SIL's lappy to upload and edit this entry.... I hope the pics turns out well. I had to edit the pictures using picasa to cover up Fauzian's in progress photo, where she's wearing the pink headband. I thought she looked really HOT in that picture. And i FORGOT to snapped the 'before' pic... so I recycled the old one sajalah... the one she's wearing orange hijab.

Anyways, as I was editing... I realized how my foundation technique has improved tremendously... You can see it in the photo how the one in black tudong, looks much more radiant and naturally contoured. The old technique, in the orange outfit... looks less dimensional.

I have to thanks my makeup teacher, Rose JR and MAC's Syahidah Rahman for giving me great tips and tricks, which I felt has improved my foundation application much better. Thanks you so much guys, I appreciate your kind guidance!

So, for Fauzian's case, she has combination skin.... which tends to make the makeup slip of easily. Therefore, I use more MAC's Prep & Prime and less Strobe cream. MAC's Hydrating Strobe cream is used primarily in the forehead and cheek area to give her a natural glow and instant high cheek bone. I didn't use liquid foundation as I think it would easily transfer off when she sweats. Therefore i opt for semi matte cream beased foundation.

Instead of using foundation that is similar to her skin tone, I used 2 tones darker for contouring(Derma D5), and 1 tone darker for the rest (Derma D4.5). And Derma 4 which is her natural skin tone, for highlight..... I felt it give her a natural, healthy glow and nicer define features.... I love her nose as it looks so naturally sharp.

Then, her lipstick is from LANCOME, code 390... a nice pinkish orange..... The eyes are from MAC's Evil Eye collection plus mineralized Rare Find. I tried using MAC pigments... but I find it looks great real life, but not on photo... The reflective particles stands out like nobody business.... hahaha.

Lastly, thank you again Fauzian for choosing me. It was utmost pleasure meeting you again.

Dinner Make Up - Elegance Emma

This is Emma from Kota Damansara. It was a pleasure meeting her as she was very friendly, thank you so much for hiring me ya. Seronok berborak dgn you pasai citer kerja.

Her company's dinner theme was - Elegance.....

So, Emma prefers natural makeup and light shading. For this eye makeup, the base is a mixture of dark blue (MAC) and soft purple (SmashBox).  My camera's flash came out too terang, bleaching out the eyeshadow color & making her skin looks pale. In real life, her eyes looks more smokier.

Her natural eyebrows was lighten to enhance her eye makeup, using MAC brow gel code Beguilled. This photo was taken before I applied the lipgloss. Color use here is MAC + Revlon. Eyelash by her own, Lin tolong pasangkan. By the way, if you guys beli eyelash yang quality elok, and would like to re-use it, do try out eyelash glue by Koji, Fix in black. The glue is dries to a latex texture, so you can easily peel it off without damaging the eyelash's strand. You can buy it online, try google supermodelsecret. A local online beauty shop.

I don't have her complete pic after accessoring with loop earing and necklace. Sayang...tak sempat dah lambat, she was rushing to KL for the dinner.

"she looks hot!"...  according to my hubby yang pick me up sempat tengok Emma ni dulu... (ehh, jeles ni!)

Can you guess her age correctly?

Maybank Annual Dinner, Retro Night in SDCC

I sure had fun working with the team during the Maybank Annual Dinner, Retro Night in SDCC recently. The dinner theme was Retro Night, which means crazy colorful era of the 70's and 80's.... you know clashing colors, shocking pinks and purples... etc.... a lot of people would shy away from these type of makeup.
BUT, I had sporting clients who was willing to have fun, for a night. Nonetheless, I gave them a wearable retro makeup that is fun but still within the natural line... as per their request.

So, here is my first client.... she wanted a total makeover. She told me her outfit was going to be green kaftan, with black turban'esque hijab. Straightaway I chose the LANCOME emerald eyeshadow pallette series for her. At first she was surprised at the first look.... but after wearing the complete outfit.... she was smiling away happily & CONFIDENTLY all night. Green eyeshadow can be a bit overpowering, so keep a light hand when applying the colors, leave the rest of the face neutral. Peach lipstick is also from LANCOME.

This cute lady was performing a Sheila Majid song for Maybank's Retro Night Dinner.... She requested for smokey look.... I combined her request with a bit of retro twist with blue fleck lipgloss from M.A.C Lipglass and bluish black smokey eyeshadow. It looks amazing on her (though it is not evident in the photos).

THe lovely glow on her cheeks is thanks to M.A.C Strobe cream and Estee Lauder's shimmer blush. It gave her a sophisticated lift and healthy glow. Hairstyling is courtesy of ZAVINCE Bridal.

We had 3 customer each, and very limited time. We had to travel 2 places (Jln Pudu, Hartamas) to meet customer's request. We took about 20-30 minutes only per client. As they booked in group of 9 pax, a very special rate was given.

Shuhada Premium Beautiful Makeup - Red Theme

This time I am lucky.
Lucky me, my fren/customer lend me her professional DSLR camera to take pics of her after the makeup session. And I felt like a Nigel Barker kejap!! heheh...

But seriously, it was a FUN session.... I really enjoyed it, I hope Shuhada did too.

Shuhada attended a Premium Beautiful Award Event last weekend. Dress code was red, and I had the opportunity to makeup her. She made it clear she likes sweet, light makeup... and would like to be recognizable as her good 'ol self. I advise that sweet light make up may drown/overpowered by her bright red outfit, and may appear too washed out later in pic. So, we agreed to give a more sultry look, that's NOT really overdone with too dark.

How the result? See it for your self...

Her before pic is from her blog. Her after pic is awesome right?

Dah  leh jadi model tudong Arianni dah nih.
Very businesswoman like.

Thank you Shuhada for the opportunity and trusting me!
May success be yours, insyaallah.
Taka sabar nak make her up for her next award receiving ceremony in March 2011, insyallah!

3 versatile LOOK, from natural day to night glam ( without falsies, with falsies, with falsies & heavy make up)

Natural make up, thin winged liner
Sometimes it is simple to take a natural make up and upgrade it into a more define make up that is fit for glam dinner. All we need to do is fix a pair of falsies (i like adding them to the outer corner of my eyes, so I dun look too made up dolly look. And subtle transformation is always nicer .. in my opinion)

Then, you need a darker shade of eyeshadow, black shadow is not really scary... blend it well and you can get away without looking to gothic.
Natural look, added with falsies at outer corner only
The falsies doesn't show here in the above pic that much, but i can assure you it looks really sultry and elegantly sexy in real life
Upgrade natural look to dinner glam make up with black eye shadows on top of the original natural make up
Here after a dash of black shadows... I'm ready for a night out glam! Notice the subtle difference? Top pic is  brown MAC eyeshadow with golden highlights. Below pic, is blended with Mary Kay's Coal black eyeshadow. This also look quite heavy in real life.... but the flash from my camera bleaches out the eyeshadow colors.
