KATE Makeup Workshop, Pavilion Part One - PRODUCTS

Some of you may know KANEBO, Japanese based makeup company. But did you know KATE makeup is produced in Japan by the same company?

As soon as Nuffnang Fashion Fab team announced that KATE Malaysia invited japanese makeup artist, Mikiya Hirai who has been in the business for 20 years (although he doesnt look 40+ att all) to do a workshop in Pavilion.... I immediately signup to join in. And it was absolutely worth it.

Firstly, on the products...

2013 collection introduces the Eyeshadow, called Goldish Eyes pallette. Very shimmery quad of colors, very pigmented too. However, you will need to have a good eyeshadow base to make sure minimal gold flecks fall out. Apparently, the gold eyeshadow contains 0.01% of pure gold! W O W!

However my favourite product has to be their Slim Gel Eyeliner. Comes in 2 colors, black and brown. Retails at RM44. Waterproof, sweat, water and SEBUM resistant too!


The beauty of the product is actually the slim point which allows you to line up to in between your lashes! It is so soft because of the gel consistency, tighlining has never been so easy! I love it!

Here's how I use it for tightlining using the pencil liner from KATE. And very lasting too. I did a very thin line about 1/4 of my outer eyes and smudged it for softer look.

The mascara is also a very lush and volumising. Super staying power.. but removal may need a really good eye makeup remover.

My other favourite product which happens to be inside the goodie bag... is the BB cream. I combined it with KANEBO new Freshel Whitening UV Gel....and I get healthy looking skin.

On days where I want no powder or foundation... I use these 2 to get glowing skin. The BB cream doesn't give greyish cast..in fact my skin looks even naturally.

On the other hand, KANEBO Freshel Whitening UV gel (fragrance free and artificial coloring free) is a dream come true. Imagine a light weight gel that absorbs well into skin, hence to greasy feel.

Five functions rolled into one cream.

LOTION + ESSENCE + EMULSION + CREAM + UV makeup base.

With SPF 26 too...

Yes, I'm loving this one....

There's other products such as powderless liquid foundation... for those on the go, and hates powdering up after wearing liquid foundation.

Skincare Review - Dr. Wu and Goodskin Labs

I am forever in search of good skin care....
In school I was plagued with acne, oily skin, skin care that didn't suit my skin....

Now, in my 30's.... i have dehydrated skin, pock marks... milia and premature fine lines under my eyes.

I have a habit of changing my skin care every year. I have tried from Estee Lauder, Origins, Bella, Johnsons & Johnson, Clean N Clear, Simple, Citra Ayu, Sari Ayu, SwissCell, Lancome, Phytomer, local sabon dr betik la, manggis la, susu kambing la.....

Mmg my skin is very unpredictable.... It can be so nice, that I no longer need to wear foundation...Then it turns around to looking absolutely uneven, acne here and there... dry patches.... sigh

So, now it is behaving badly....

I was looking high and low for salvation..... SASA was having their SALE, and so I was recommended by the SA to try out DR. WU Hydrating System and Goodskin labs serum.

I am very pleased with the result actually.

So, if you hate the dryness sensation after washing your wash, do try out Dr. Wu Hydrating Gel Cleanser with Aqua Collagen. You get the clean feel, but not the itchiness nor tightness. Good product!

Next is the Smooth 365 from Goodskin Labs, Intensive Clarity and Smoothing Peptide serum.

Worn after cleaning your face but before moisturizer, this serum instantaneously gives your skin clarity, as in even looking skin. It is not oily. Gives you a smooth sensation. Love it

I love makeup.

Makes me look more polished and gives me an extra ..... sumthing.. ;)

But I HATE the removal part.... bukan maksod I sayang nak remove...but the removal is such a chore and pain! And you have to remove everything before you go to bed... because most makeup is not designed to be part of skin care.

But, I was given the chance by FEMALE magazine to review a wonderful product that offers amazing skin care benefits and absolutely light natural makeup foundation. This product will be official in Malaysia by Nov 2012.

LANCOME Genifique Youth Activator Review

Ini barang baik....

Chewahh.... sebenarnya, some of you may know Lin actually dah terbeli set skin care baru dari ORIGINS.... setakat ni Lin mmg very satisfied with their products (except for the make A Difference, Skin Rejuvanating Moisturizer.. not suitable for combination skin, no matter what the SA tells you!) ... then tetiba terdapat pulak this LANCOME Genifique Youth Activator Serum 30ml... 

Apa lagi, jenis pompuan tak sabar... I pon test ler..... Mana buleh tahan, tgk botol Lancome tu dok panggei nama I.... ;P

So, I pakai twice a day... about nak masok 2 weeks.... but the initial result mmg WOW! Lagi cepat and significant dari serum Origin, Skin Catalyst.... Maybe sebab harga dia pon RM350 sebotol 30ml.... korang devide tgk 1 ml brapa hengget?! Texture serum emulsion, tak berminyak... cepat meresap. Kalo pakai, teknik dia kena urut in circular motion.... bukan dab or pat on like serum biasa. Dia punya applicator ala picagari makmal gitu... baguih la gak....

Anyways, masalah dark circle, line bawah mata, smile lines pon dah berkurang... my face seems more brighter..... open pores kat area hidong and pipi pon dah kecik skit.... my oh my...cepat betol effect dia... samada kekal atau tak... itu kita akan lihat....

tapi kalo u all google review menda ni... byk gak org puteh kata depa naik jerawat/break out after guna Genifique ni.... korang refer makeupalley but setakat ni, alhamdulillah... Lin yg jenis suka berjerawat ni, tak plak naik jerawat... my skin feels much smoother actually..... Ini kisah benar yer, dari hati ke hati punya review....  bukan sebab Lancome kasi hadiah eh. 

I think my mom will be happy trying this one out. In fact, she should be a better reviewer memandangkan dia mmg suka beli all this youth serum dari Estee la, Clinique la....

Review In Progress - Skincare by ORIGINS

Have you all jumpa your BEST, HG skin care yet? I haven't.... if you have, pllleassse share wiv me!
My skin condition is always changing, one day it is nice supple and clear.... then next month jadi oily plak, then open pores, then dry pulak... and paling tak suka is when musim pimple. Mak aihhhh, sakit giler okeh.. naik plak 2-3 ekor!
So, if you check my vanity dressing table... mcm2 skin care ader.... Kulit I ni jenis kebal, dapat skin care yang baru.. dia akan elok... then dah lama.. skin I pon buat prangai balik. My beautician mula2 kata my skin ni dry ... so pakai la hydration line biasa... then my skin mmg cantik! My hubby pon puji, and for men to notice... that is an achivement tau. After a while, I upgraded to more luxurious skin care by the same salon ,my skin start congested, mula naik jerawat, open pores.... then my beautician suruh tukar skin care plak dah... she says, my moisturizer too rich for me dah. Plak dahhh?! Hari tu ko promote sakan! Mahai nak mati la tuhh! Then I nak return to the old range, dah discontinued plok.... ganti ngan hok lain.... parok lah.
After that, I wandered around test Garnier, L'oreal, Hada Labo, Vichy.... biasa la... mmg jenis tak setia.

So, lately terasa my skin getting worst... kebetulan dok research cari skin care for kulit mengada mcm I ni... terjumpa la ORIGINS.... since my birthday is juz around d corner..... alhamdulillah I berjaya con my hubby to buy it for me. Aihh, muka ni gak u nak kena tenung hari2 kan??

So, hajat nak beli moisturizer jer.... tp terjebak ngan SA dia beli serum and masque sekali... boleh agak la kan kekerutan dahi laki aku... sayang U dear... ngeheheehhe.

So, for the moisturizer (Make A Difference, Skin rejuvanating moisturizer RM180 50ml), I like the aromatheraphy smell of flowers n herbs tu. A tad degil nak absorb, leaves an oily feeling skit. My skin tak breakout lagi setakat ni. Dia punya ingredients mmg mostly plant base and major water content. Terang2 each box mentions Formulated WITHOUT :
-parabens, mineral oil, propylene glycol, petrolatum, paraffin, synthetic color and fragrance.

Yang I like is the serum ( Modern Fusion, Skin Transforming Catalyst, RM180 30ml). Kalo baca the notes on the box mmg katanya semua masalah buleh ilang. AMboiii... (dullness, roughness, fine lines, pores, brown spots) Time pakai mmg rasa best la, lembut, licin ajer. My pores kat pipi dah kurang, tunggu yg kat idong plak.

No. 3 plak is the Charcoal mask(Clear Improvement, Active Charcoal Mask to clear pores, RM100 100ml). Haaaa... yang ni aku pakai, rasa stinging panas kat open pores aku. After that ada rasa smooth skit. Kena rajin pakai lagi. I tested on my hubby, dia kata tak rasa panas pon. His skin jenis halus, pores rapat tak nampak langsong. Kira kulit normal la. So, you can deduce that the product will work on certain skin that need helps.

And of course, dapat free sample. 6 set, dari facial wash(best), sun block SPF50(no color or white cast), eye serum, moisturizer,anti aging serum, moisturizer anti aging..... seronok freebies weih!

Ok, aku test lagi brg Origins ni sampai aku terjebak ke barang lain lak.... Korang kalo ader test skin care best2, cerita ler yer... sharing is caring.
