Best Foundation For Asian?

I am one of those people not blessed with good skin.... remnance from teenage acne scars, pock marks, uneven skin, undereye dark circles.... u name it.

Which is why I feel not so 100% confident when I go out without at least an light foundation coverage. And finding the perfect foundation for asian skin like mine aint easy. You need to tweak it with darker foundation or bronzer to give it a healthy look. Else, if you like looking pale...well... what can I say.... every one has a preference.

I like mixing my foundation to get my perfect color match. Requires deft hands tho...

So, talking of brands.. I am not loyal.... I like trying out new stuff.... exploring...

Here's my experiment with Lancome Teint Miracle (very light)  + Mary Kay Foundation (dark)

Lancome latest liquid foundation has absolutely great coverage and natural feel. Your skit will look smooth and flawless! May that's why Kate Middleton wore it on her wedding day. The problem is, it oxides to a white grey cast... and that looks not good on tanned skin like ours. Their dark or medium dark still oxides to a whitish grey after a while.

Whilst Mary Kay liquid foundation offers better color tone for the dark skinned. The problem however, the coverage isn't that great. It doesn't offer any special reflective agents that make skin glows of look flawless.

So, when mixed these two... I was hoping to get the best of both worlds.... Well... see the result for your self below:

Yes, in realife... it looks pretty good and healthy... as if I got glowing skin.. but careful with full frontal flash on... bcoz like any other foundation with corrective reflective ingredients .. it tends to look white. Nonetheless, I'd say the look is very fresh.. like you dun really feel the heavy makeup... the coverage is full but, you don't look powdered down like going to an Oscar party.... you get what I mean?

So, try mixing your foundation... you never know... you might get the best foundation for your self.... DIY



Tools Of Trade - LANCOME, Kryolan, MAC, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Mary Kay

 Just in case, if you are wondering what brand of make up product I use for clients.... what type of serum I include for the bride's face... here's the picture and info. So, let's open up my train case and see what's inside.....

To ensure long lasting and flawless finish for bridal/wedding services I use make up base from several brands, depending on skin types, either MAC Prep n Prime or, Lancome BB Base or Mary Kay Whitening primer. For clients with sensitive skin, I use Shu Eumura makeup base as it is paraben and silicon free. Sometimes I use oil mattifier from Mary Kay for those who has extremely oily skin.

Next is the moisturiser or serum which is from MAC Charged Water Hydrating Mist or Origin's Youthopia serum or Lancome's Genifique serum. But great skin is not achieved in one day, this is just to ensure your skin is properly hydrated and minimise fine lines, smooth out open pores. I advise regular facial for bride to be at least few month before the actual wedding day.

Oil Free liquid foundation from Bobbi Brown and STAGE is available, Lancome Teint Miracle as well as cream foundation from KRYOLAN TV Paint Stick , Dermacos too. This cream foundation offers full coverage and flawless finish. Make up will look much better after it 'sets' on your skin about 15-20minutes. Do take note, this cream foundation can be pore clogging. Hence, always make sure your REALLY clean your skin well, by double cleansing. Normal face wash is not enough, always use proper make up remover to ensure your face is free of zits and trouble post wedding. Loose powder are from the same beauty line. I've been wanting to add CHANEL Vitalumiere into my collection though.

I started the business at earlier stage using these basic, low end make up such as this 88 eyeshadow pallette, Maybelline mascara and cream foundation from Japan called Naturactor. These are non branded, but offers beautiful myriad of colors. Not very lasting and color payoff is weak, hence eye primer from MAC or UDPP is used. I think a lot of new kak andam still use this affordable e/shadow pallatte.

But, I wont be using this anymore....

As for bridal, I only use eyeshadow from Laura Mercier, Urban decay, SMASHBOX, Estee Lauder, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Shu Eumura & Lancome... as the color pay off are better, long lasting and crease free. If you notice, all colors I have are neutral, soft romantic colors. Colors is suppose to enhance your eyes, not over shadow with thick black kohl eyes.

The coveted NAKED palatte from URBAN DECAY... being a person who loves natural look, this is one MUST HAVE pallatte for you au naturelle ladies out there. Lovely warm tone colors, great pay off

 Special skin care need such as sensitive skin may need different type of base. Not all skin will suit certain brands, hence I have multitude of makeup base such as:

MAC Strobe Cream
Peter Thomas Roth un Wrinkle Primer
Shu Eumura UV underbase mousse
Laura Mercier radiance base
Dr. G BB Cream
Lancome BB Base

Lipstick and lipgloss are mainly from MAC, Estee Lauder, STAGE, Mary Kay, REVLON and Lancome.

Final finishing will include Kryolan's fixing spray, Urban decay mist to make sure your make up stays intact for several hours without fading or 'slipping' .

I can ensure you all the high end product I've mentioned above are 100% original, bought over the counter in One Utama or from the distributor themselves. The Kryolan supplies does come online from trusted reseller (source Germany, USA). 

I definitely DO NOT use imitations of high end products, as I dare not even use it on myself, furthermore on other people's face.

Ini barang baik....

Chewahh.... sebenarnya, some of you may know Lin actually dah terbeli set skin care baru dari ORIGINS.... setakat ni Lin mmg very satisfied with their products (except for the make A Difference, Skin Rejuvanating Moisturizer.. not suitable for combination skin, no matter what the SA tells you!) ... then tetiba terdapat pulak this LANCOME Genifique Youth Activator Serum 30ml... 

Apa lagi, jenis pompuan tak sabar... I pon test ler..... Mana buleh tahan, tgk botol Lancome tu dok panggei nama I.... ;P

So, I pakai twice a day... about nak masok 2 weeks.... but the initial result mmg WOW! Lagi cepat and significant dari serum Origin, Skin Catalyst.... Maybe sebab harga dia pon RM350 sebotol 30ml.... korang devide tgk 1 ml brapa hengget?! Texture serum emulsion, tak berminyak... cepat meresap. Kalo pakai, teknik dia kena urut in circular motion.... bukan dab or pat on like serum biasa. Dia punya applicator ala picagari makmal gitu... baguih la gak....

Anyways, masalah dark circle, line bawah mata, smile lines pon dah berkurang... my face seems more brighter..... open pores kat area hidong and pipi pon dah kecik skit.... my oh my...cepat betol effect dia... samada kekal atau tak... itu kita akan lihat....

tapi kalo u all google review menda ni... byk gak org puteh kata depa naik jerawat/break out after guna Genifique ni.... korang refer makeupalley but setakat ni, alhamdulillah... Lin yg jenis suka berjerawat ni, tak plak naik jerawat... my skin feels much smoother actually..... Ini kisah benar yer, dari hati ke hati punya review....  bukan sebab Lancome kasi hadiah eh. 

I think my mom will be happy trying this one out. In fact, she should be a better reviewer memandangkan dia mmg suka beli all this youth serum dari Estee la, Clinique la....

How to apply Lancome Maqui Miracle Compact Foundation

I was given the opportunity by Nuffnang with Lancome collaboration to test out their new compact powder foundation called the Lancome MAQUI MIRACLE. It has SPF 35, 12 hour lasting performance and radiate aura from within!

How cool is that? So I put it to the test, with my most crappy face.... see the difference!
